Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Parentchime ("we", "our", or "the app") is a parenting app for tracking a child's nutrition, health, growth, school, and daily routines, and for coordinating with a co-parent or caregiver. This policy explains what information the Parentchime mobile app and the parentchime.com website collect, why we collect it, how it's stored and protected, who it's shared with, and the choices and rights you have over it.

By using Parentchime you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app and website.

2. Who we are

Parentchime is operated by Ridhi Sarda, trading as Rsardatechsolutions. You can reach us at rsardatechsolutions@gmail.com.

3. Information we collect

We collect information you and your family actively enter into the app:

We do not collect advertising identifiers or precise location data, and we do not buy or import data about you from third-party data brokers.

4. AI-based photo analysis

Parentchime includes an optional feature that lets you photograph a meal or a supplement label and get an automatic nutrition read-out instead of typing it in by hand. When you use this feature, the photo you take is sent to our backend and forwarded to OpenAI's API to generate a structured description (food items, estimated nutrients, or label contents), which is then shown to you for review — you can always correct it before it's saved. The photo and the resulting analysis are logged on our servers as part of your meal/supplement record, the same as if you had typed it in.

This feature is currently disabled in the shipping app while we finish backend safeguards (rate limiting, file-size limits, and cost controls); manual entry is used until it's turned on. We will update this section with OpenAI's specific data-handling terms before enabling it in production, and the in-app camera screen will disclose that a photo is sent to a third-party AI provider at the point you use it.

5. How we use your information

Your information is used to provide the app's features:

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your family's health, nutrition, or growth records to train machine learning models.

6. Analytics

The app uses PostHog to collect product-usage analytics — for example, which screens are opened, which features are used, app-open/background events, and bounded failure reasons when something goes wrong. This helps us understand what's working and fix problems.

Every analytics event is restricted by design to counts, booleans, durations, and fixed categories (for example, "meal logged: source = manual, has_image = false") — never free text you typed, so a food name, vaccine name, medicine name, diagnosis note, or search query cannot reach PostHog. We do not use session recording or on-screen input capture. You're identified to PostHog only by your account ID, not your name, email, or phone number.

7. Data storage & security

Your data is stored on Supabase, a hosted Postgres platform, in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Access to your family's records is enforced primarily through database-level Row Level Security and server-side authorization checks, so that only you and any co-parent you invite can read or write your family's data through the app. Limited administrative access exists for account support, safety/abuse moderation (for example, acting on a reported community post), and legal compliance — this access is logged and restricted to what's needed for that purpose.

Authentication session tokens are stored in your device's secure storage and are not exposed to analytics or crash-reporting services.

8. Data sharing

We don't sell your data. We share it only with:

Community posts, comments, and poll results are visible to other logged-in users by design; see Section 9.

9. Community features

Posts, comments, likes, and poll votes you share in the community section are visible to other Parentchime users. Please don't include anything you wouldn't want other parents to see.

You can report a post or comment for review, and you can block another user — blocking is mutual, so a blocked user's content is hidden from you and yours from them. Reported content is reviewed by Parentchime for safety and policy enforcement.

10. Playdates & contacts

When you create a playdate and invite another parent by selecting their phone number from your device contacts, we store that phone number only to deliver the invite and let you know whether it was accepted. We do not import or store the rest of your contact list — only the specific number(s) you choose to invite — and that number is automatically deleted 90 days after you add it, regardless of whether the invite was accepted.

11. Push notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push token tied to your device to deliver reminders and updates. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or in-app settings, which stops future delivery; the token is removed when you do.

12. Subscriptions & payments

At launch, all features are free except AI-based photo analysis (Section 4), so no payment or subscription information is collected. The app includes RevenueCat, a subscription-management SDK, for a future paid tier; once that ships, this section will be updated to describe the purchase and entitlement data collected (handled by Apple/Google's payment systems and RevenueCat, not by us directly).

13. Children's privacy

Parentchime is designed for use by parents and caregivers aged 18 and above. The app stores data about children as entered by their parent or guardian — children do not create their own accounts or interact with the app directly.

If you believe a child has used the app without parental supervision, contact us at rsardatechsolutions@gmail.com and we will address it promptly. All data about a child belongs to the parent/guardian who added it and is deleted when they delete their account.

14. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual records (meals, vaccinations, measurements, activities, etc.) at any time in the app.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your family's data — every child profile, health/nutrition/growth/school/activity record, uploaded photo, community post, and your authentication identity — from our production systems within 30 days. (If Parentchime launches on Android, Google Play's Data Safety policy requires a web page offering the same deletion path outside the app; we'll add one at that point.)

Playdate invite phone numbers follow the 90-day deletion described in Section 10.

15. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable law, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact rsardatechsolutions@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

16. Cookies & website analytics

The Parentchime mobile app does not use cookies or web-tracking technologies. The parentchime.com marketing website does not currently use any cookies, web analytics, or tracking tools. If we add one in the future (for example, basic aggregate traffic analytics), we'll name the specific tool here and describe what it collects before turning it on.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes to how we use your data, notify you in the app and seek your consent before applying those changes to data we already hold.
